The Creative Core is an interpretation design company creating visitor experiences for museums, heritage and culture. Our approach puts visitors and communities first, building connection, meaning and pride through co-creation and audience-led design.

We’re a hands-on, multidisciplinary team based in West Yorkshire and working nationwide. Our creative process is rooted in collaboration, shared values and fun. Guided by years of project experience and success. Shaped around your team, your project and your vision.

Community engagement

We believe in shaping visitor experiences about people, with people, for people. By bringing audiences and communities into the creative process, we develop trust, authenticity and originality in both what we design and how we design it.

That’s what makes Core different. Each of our designers and interpretation practitioners is also an experienced co-creation facilitator, with backgrounds in museums, education, arts programming and user-centred design. Community engagement is intrinsic to our approach, delivered in-house by our team and channelled directly into our designs.

We engage with audience groups, stakeholders, local communities, staff and volunteers, families, early years, schools, young adults, access groups, artists, experts, cultural associations, and the public.

Sustainability

Sustainable design demands ambition, collaboration and integrity. Cultural projects have a role to play in responding to the climate and biodiversity crisis. We can match your commitments with action and process, in our studio, on the factory floor and across our supply chain.

We design for change, adaptation and reuse. With materials chosen responsibly, sourced locally and used efficiently. Quantified, measured and reported to evidence carbon choices. We achieve this by systematic process – ISO 14001 environmental management, ISO 14064-1 carbon impact reporting, and FSC® Chain of Custody.
