November 30, 2018Tender for design, build and installation of straight-tusked elephant sculptures – expired
Warwickshire Wildlife Trust is looking to appoint a sculptor to design, build and install one adult straight-tusked elephant sculpture (3.5m-4m high) and one straight-tusked elephant calf (1-2m high). The sculptures will help bring to life the geological history of the Dunsmore Living Landscape Scheme area, including Heidelberg Man axe finds bones of the Straight-tusked elephant Palaeoloxodon antiquus. The sculptures will likely be metal, although willow may also be considered.
With main funding of over £1 million raised by The National Lottery and awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the DLL scheme aims to restore the most significant area of ancient woodland in Warwickshire, increase landscape connectivity through the restoration of hedgerows, grasslands, ponds and heritage sites and engage local communities in a programme of natural heritage-related activities.
You are invited to provide a tender for delivering this work. A copy of the full brief may be downloaded here.
