AHI Journal Volume 06, Number 03, Summer 2001

Our back catalogue of journals has been digitised and made available online for the first time in 2025, our 50th Anniversary year, with the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and players of the National Lottery. Licensed under CC BY SA 4.0.

The journal has been published since the formation of the Society for the Interpretation of Britain’s Heritage, as AHI was called at the time, with issue 1 published in the summer of 1975. These journals catalogue the development of the profession of Heritage Interpretation and include an incredible wealth of content, practical experience, polemic, case studies and discussion on many aspects of the heritage profession.

Much of it is written by experts in their fields – including many of our own members and associates who were, or have gone on to be, highly regarded exponents and champions of the profession. Their vision is often as pertinent today as it was when first penned.
