Heritage Interpretation Design and Fit Out – Invitation to Tender – Newcastle Cathedral – expired
July 18, 2019Based in the North of England (or even just over the border)? Fancy a summer trip to Bolton to look at interpretation?
August 2, 2019Exclusive Member Opportunity
Would you like to speak on behalf of AHI at the upcoming Interpreting History conference on Thursday 19th September 2019 at Alexandra Palace, London?
This landmark one-day conference will showcase the range of interpretive techniques in use – and in development – from immersive and traditional to leading edge, and will assess their value in terms of effectiveness, commercial return and audience engagement through demonstrations, case studies, presentations and discussions.
You can find out more about the event here - www.heritagecities.com/interpretinghistoryconference
We have a slot reserved on to speak on the day, and we are looking for a member of AHI to present exciting work in this area. The provisional title is: Why interpret? What’s on the horizon? The details and approach is up to you, but we will work with who is selected on a short introduction to AHI as part of the presentation.
If you are interested please let us know by 5pm Wednesday 31 July with:
- A 50 word description about the session
- Speaker name, job title and organisation and brief bio.
Alongside the conference, there will be an exhibition to allow participants to see demonstrations of or to experience for themselves new interpretive technologies and to discuss in depth with their developers. In lunch and refreshment breaks, there will be lots of opportunities to network with speakers and fellow delegates. And there will also be an opportunity for everyone to experience the £27m renovation of the Theatre and East Court at Alexandra Palace, this wonderful Victorian landmark.
AHI will cover reasonable travel expenses to the conference.
A small panel of AHI trustees will review any expressions of interest with the following criteria in mind:
- relevance to the conference
- degree of showcasing good interpretive practice.
Please send your expression of interest to admin@ahi.org.uk
