The interpretation team at English Heritage generate experiences that enrich a visit to one of our properties - informing, provoking and moving our visitors. We are communicators - revealing the historical expertise of the curatorial department and championing our audience when delivering all interpretation schemes.
The Interpretation Manager (South East) will develop and deliver projects across the South East region, supporting our aim to bring the Story of England to life across our sites.
Working with a variety of stakeholders, the successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and delivery of innovative interpretation schemes at some of our most exciting and high profile sites. The role requires an excellent eye for detail and confidence in developing 2D and 3D design, plus an understanding of the challenges faced when working with historic collections, buildings and environments.
Highly efficient, with good creative design sensitivity and the ability to work on their own initiative, the Interpretation Manager (South East) will show passion and enthusiasm for public engagement and innovative interpretation across the sector. Alongside excellent interpersonal skills, they will have demonstrable experience in project management and show good judgement when identifying and resolving problems.
