AHI Best Practice Guidelines webinar: LGBTQIA+ Heritage Interpretation – Steve Slack

AHI’s best practice guidance on LGBTQIA+ heritage interpretation was co-authored by a collective of queer interpreters from across the country. Join us for this online session where we showcase the contents of the new guide, discuss how we attempted to ‘queer’ the interpretation process and highlight some of the case studies from across the UK and Ireland.
Queer heritage is embedded in society and can be found in museums, galleries, heritage properties, outdoor sites and beyond. But some interpreters tell us they are unsure as to how to approach this subject. This guidance and webinar aim to offer some reassurance, some insight and some inspiration through reference to some inspirational queer interpretation. There will be time for questions and conversation during the session.

Hosted by Steve Slack (FAHI) with members of the collective who created the guide, Storm Greenwood and Sabrina Willekens.

This webinar, and the linked Best Practice Guide were made possible thanks to support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
