Starting salary: £24,718 (F.T.E) Pro Rata, Part Time (14 hours per week)
The Westmorland Dales is a beautiful area of Cumbria, with a rich natural and cultural heritage, lying within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A £2.27m grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund has been secured to deliver the £3.45m 4-year Westmorland Dales Landscape Partnership Scheme, for which Friends of the Lake District is the lead partner and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority the accountable body.
The Interpretation Officer will play a key role in the team. He or she will take the lead in delivering the Interpreting the Westmorland Dales project in particular, working closely with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, other partners, consultants, designers, and community groups. In addition they will help to ensure that interpretation is a common thread linking all the various projects together, drawing on the draft interpretive plan which has already been developed.
The post is for period to the end of April 2023 with a potential extension to the autumn of 2023. It will be based at Tebay within the scheme area.
