Invitation to tender for Interpretation Project Management ServicesOctober 26, 2023
The Chatsworth House Trust (CHT) have been successful in the initial (development phase) bid for a major Heritage Grant for ‘Celebrating the Cascade’ from NLHF. In addition to essential repairs to the structure, the project will bring the stories of the Cascade and the ‘water artery’ of Chatsworth to all visitors.
The Chatsworth House Trust seeks to commission a specialist to develop proposals for a suite of interpretation for the Cascade and the ‘water artery’ that runs from the moors down through Stand Wood, the garden and into the River Derwent and Paine’s Mill.
We are looking for a consultant to consider storylines we have begun to explore, expand upon these and advise on the best modes of interpretation we should use to communicate the stories of the Cascade with our visitors and underrepresented audiences. We would like for the consultant to run focus groups to test these stories and modes of interpretation with visitors and underrepresented audiences.
We ask that the focus groups, research and written report to be completed by 19 February 2024
We ask that a mid-term interpretation plan be delivered by 19 March 2024
The final report shall be submitted to Chatsworth House Trust by 30 April 2024
We ask that the successful consultant then allow 6 weeks for questions and clarifications to be asked for with the team at CHT.
The Chatsworth House Trust was established in 1981 and endowed by the Devonshire family. A registered charity, its principal purpose is the long term preservation of the house, its art collection, garden, woodlands and park for the benefit of the public. We offer and aim to continually develop a wide variety of learning opportunities for both children and adults.
