Imagemakers combines multi-disciplinary design skills, creative thinking, the latest technological know-how, effective project management and thorough planning to devise genuinely engaging and memorable interpretive experiences. We establish close and effective working relationships with clients, stakeholders and communities to achieve this.

Imagemakers provides a comprehensive range of services for clients in the heritage, tourism and education sectors. Consultancy based projects include interpretation, activity and training plans, round 1 and 2 HLF applications (100% success rate to date!), evaluation studies, funding packages and community consultation programmes. Implementation work includes multi-faceted exhibitions and galleries, innovative digital installations, apps, outdoor installations, public art, literature and websites.

Projects

Chester city-wide interpretation – heritage interpretation masterplan and the design and implementation of multiple outdoor installations and sculptures, apps, virtual reality viewpoint and guidebook for the historic city’s Roman Amphitheatre, city walls and towers, green spaces and many historic buildings.

King Richard III Centre: Dynasty, Death and Discovery, Leicester - Imagemakers are Creative Directors for this very high profile and complex visitor centre development project that will tell the remarkable story of the Richard III, England’s last Plantagenet king, and his recent discovery in Leicester.

I Tweet Dead People at the Yorkshire Museum, York – a pilot project funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council that marries pervasive media and ‘gamification’ (e.g. a trail of challenges) and a striking, thought-provoking identity to create a powerful new interpretive experience.

Battlegroup Afghanistan at the Tank Museum, Dorset – planning, design and implementation of an immersive exhibition telling the story of the tank regiments in the current Afghanistan conflict.

Oates Museum, Hampshire – new galleries interpreting the life of Captain Lawrence Oates which ended during the ill-fated Terra Nova expedition to the South Pole in 1912.
Heritage Lottery Fund ‘Interpretation Good Practice Guidelines’ – HLF head office commission to write their guidelines for those seeking funding for interpretive projects.

Grange Court, Leominster - interpretation plan, action plan and assistance with the Activity Plan and successful HLF application, followed by the implementation of exhibition-based and outdoor interpretive media supported and an innovative tablet tour.

Conisbrough Castle, Yorkshire - interpretation design plan to support a successful HLF round 2 application for this Anglo-Norman castle in South Yorkshire that’s under the guardianship of English Heritage.

Avalon Marshes Landscape Partnership, Somerset - preparation of Access, Interpretation, Community, Training and Education, and Action Plans for this Landscape Partnership Area, resulting in a successful HLF bid.

Swiss Garden, Bedfordshire – interpretation, access and activity planning leading to a successful HLF application, followed by the implementation of a multi-faceted scheme comprising exhibitions, sculptures, an app, audio tour, website & printed literature.

St James’ Priory, Bristol - planning and implementation of the interpretive displays, signage and website for Bristol’s oldest building, working church and community and social support centre. This commission included the preparation of a branding package for the site.

Lime and Ice at Sutton Bank, North Yorkshire - a multi-faceted scheme comprising an interactive exhibition and app that interpret the amazing geology, landscape, wildlife and management of this beautiful part of the North York Moors National Park.

The Royal Parks – creation of an interpretation and design strategy which we are currently rolling out across the famous parks of London.
