Opportunity to tender: Interpretation trail, The Woodland Trust – Smithills Estate – Expired.

We are looking for a consultant with proven experience in design adaptation and production of innovative and engaging outdoor heritage interpretation to tender for the creation of a series of three installations along our Water Trail walking route at Smithills Estate, and for a separate series of six posts across the site which will be used to display pieces of writing created by community groups (the ‘Story Stones’). These installations are a key part of the visitor experience at Smithills Estate - the largest Woodland Trust site in England, with c.300K visitors per year - and offer an opportunity to work in tandem with a community writing project based in Bolton. The installations will need to include information boards on specified themes but there is also the opportunity to do this in a creative and innovative way.

This is to include the development and design of each element, including supporting planning applications if required by providing supporting drawings and information that can be submitted for planning.
