October 25, 2018Nominations are now open for the election of an AHI Trustee
Are you interested in becoming an AHI Trustee? If so, complete a nomination form and return it by noon on Friday, 28 September 2018.
As an AHI Trustee, you have the exciting opportunity to direct the strategic development of AHI during your term. Being a Trustee is a rewarding position. You will help to shape and support the profession of heritage interpretation in the UK and Ireland.
The committee represents a diverse range of individuals, each of whom has a different set of skills and involvement in interpretation. Each Trustee is expected to meet for at least three committee meetings per year, join one of the working sub-groups and take on an active role in one or more area. Our work is conducted within the context of the current Forward Plan, developed and refreshed by Trustees. This work also contributes to your continuing professional development.
The Executive Committee consists of a maximum of nine elected trustees and three appointed (co-opted) trustees. Trustees are elected or appointed for a three-year term. Four of the nine elected trustees are elected to the posts of Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
Each year, one-third of the trustees must retire at each AGM (i.e. three elected and one appointed trustees).
At the 2018 AGM, Barbara Hamilton and Katherine Skellon are retiring and not seeking re-election. Kev Theaker and Suzanna Jones (who is currently a co-opted trustee) are retiring and seeking election with the support of the committee.
