January 24, 2018Like to be an AHI Trustee?
Are you interested in becoming an AHI Trustee? If so, download and complete a nomination form by noon on Friday, 22 September 2017.
As an AHI Trustee, you have the exciting opportunity to direct the strategic development of AHI during your term. Being a Trustee is a rewarding position. You will help to shape and support the profession of heritage interpretation in the UK and Ireland.
The committee represents a diverse range of individuals, each of whom has a different set of skills and involvement in interpretation. Each Trustee is expected to meet for at least three committee meetings per year, join one of the working sub-groups and take on an active role in one area or more. Our work is conducted within the context of the current Forward Plan, developed and refreshed by Trustees. This work also contributes to your continuing professional development.
The Executive Committee consists of a maximum of nine elected trustees and three appointed (co-opted) trustees. Trustees are elected or appointed for a three-year term. Four of the nine elected trustees are elected to the posts of Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
Each year, one-third of the trustees must retire at each AGM (i.e. three elected and one appointed trustees).
At the 2017 AGM, Laura Sole, Ruth Coulthard and Kate Lindley, are retiring and seeking re-election with the support of the committee.
Appointed trustee Philip Ryland is also retiring and the committee have agreed to appoint him for a second three-year term at their next meeting.
The 2017 nomination form is available here.
Completed forms, which need to be signed by the nominee and the proposer, should be returned to the AHI Administrator, 54 Balmoral Road, Gillingham, Kent ME7 4PG.
