ENGLESEA BROOK CHAPEL & MUSEUM
Englesea Brook is an accredited museum and one of the four key Heritage Sites supported by the Methodist Church in Britain. Its focus is on the Primitive Methodist movement which had its roots in this District, with the first Camp Meeting at Mow Cop in 1807. It was a people’s movement, which encountered opposition to its open air meetings and radical engagement with Chartism, the trade unions, pacifism and politics.

Englesea Brook celebrates the story of the Methodist Church through using its heritage to:

  • challenge and deepen the faith of Methodists from different parts of Britain, or from other countries, in a way which enables them to engage more fully in mission;
  • inspire members of the local community, outside the Church, to think about the meaning and practice of Christian faith or engage with Methodism;
  • inspire people from different parts of Britain, or from other countries, to explore the meaning and practice of Christian faith or engage with Methodism.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is self-motivated, with good communication skills, an ability to organise, and experience of working with volunteers. Interviews will take place on Wednesday 6 March.
