Sussex Wildlife Trust wishes to appoint a consultant to provide an interpretation plan for HLF Heritage Grant Round 2 submission. We are currently building a new Visitor centre at our Rye Harbour nature reserve, which is an internationally important site for wading birds and many other species. The reserve already receives large number of visitors, the majority of whom come for a walk along the beach, rather than to see wildlife. As well as being an important nature reserve, the site also has a wide range of associated military and social history.
The interpretation plan will need to consider the interior of the building which need flexible space for interpretation, education and a café, and on- site around the reserve and in bird hides.
